A member of my church recently handed me a newspaper article about the decline of the church in the USA.
As someone who loves the Church founded by Jesus, such articles distress me.
I believe that if we Christians really
practiced what Jesus preached, the churches would be overflowing. The problem with humans is that we have a very hard time
practicing what Jesus preached.
Jesus said
34 “A new command I give you:
Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples,
if you love one another.”
Tomorrow, January 22nd, at 11AM, I will preach a sermon called LOVING ONE
ANOTHER 101 based on Romans 1:8-17. In this passage, Paul models behaviors that are loving.
If you want to learn
more about LOVING ONE ANOTHER 101, come and join us as we keep working on loving one another at the First Baptist Church of
Kent Island. We are located at 300 State Street in Stevensville, just behind Bayside Elementary School. We will save part
of a pew for you.
Blessings,
Pastor Ned

Thanks to all who came to our April 2011 Drive and
to our production members.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
Romans 12:1
